Fish at the rhythm of Ripplecove
The Eastern Townships are known for their natural beauty and abundance of outdoor activities, including fishing! Here at Ripplecove, fishing is part of the hotel’s heritage and history, having started operations in 1945 as a fishing lodge!
“Originally, it was the outfitter of Archibald and Elizabeth Stafford: we went to the ‘Cove’ to fish and party,” says the director of the establishment, Mamadou Sow. It was indeed the meeting place of the Townships’ elite, baited by rainbow trout, pike, yellow perch and a miraculous fishing story that promised catches of 30 pounds! A destination was born…
Fishing is our legacy
Indeed, originally Ripplecove was an outfitter. People came to fish and party. The lake was historically known to house species such as rainbow trout, pike, yellow perch. Of course, Lake Massawippi was also the mirror of fishing stories as we know them!
